Ten soldiers were injured when their pickup trucks were ambushed by insurgents on Thursday.
The soldiers were travelling in seven pickup trucks when they ambushed with a roadside bomb at a bridge on the Krong Penang – Bannang Sata Road at 11:45 am. The soldiers were returning to their base in Ban Santi village in Tambon Bang Lang Dam in Bannang Sata district after they went to buy foods supply in Yala provincial seat.
The bomb damaged the fourth truck in the convoy and the insurgents opened fire at the soldiers for about five minutes before they retreated.
